CABLE INNOVATIONS INTRODUCES ECONOMICAL DROP SURGE SUPPRESSOR

Lawrenceville , GA - Cable Innovations Inc. announced today the introduction of a new line of economical drop surge suppressors. These new surge suppressors may be purchased for under $2.00 per a drop. Designated the DLPS-15G, this new protector incorporates the latest gas tube technology with Cable innovations patented design and quality to make drop protection affordable to every system. With the capital invested in the drop by the system and the subscriber, protecting the drop is essential. The new DLPS-15G withstands a 20,000 amp surge, has reduced voltage let-through, and superior insertion and return loss specifications.

Mike Aquino, Cable Innovations President said “Up until now we have relied totally on solid-state products for our surge suppression circuit. Although solid state provides a more durable solution it is often a budget buster for cost conscience systems. The DLPS-15G gas tube circuit gives those cost conscience systems a cost effective option while giving Cable Innovations quality, reliability and support.”

Fred Runkle, Vice President of Engineering, stated, ” We have developed a surge protector to match the requirements of the CATV industry. Selecting the right components and aggressively pursuing stringent quality control standards is why Cable Innovations has earned its reputation for quality and reliability.”

CABLE INNOVATIONS INTRODUCES SUBSCRIBER SURGE PROTECTOR

Lawrenceville , GA - Cable Innovations, Inc. announced today the introduction of a new subscriber premise power line surge protector, the PSB 5+3.  The PSB-5+3 has eight (8) surge protected outlets handling up 2150 joules.  Three of the outlets are extra wide to allow for power cubes. Each outlet has a sliding child safety cover and a 15-Amp overload resetable circuit breaker.

The PSB 5+3 accomplishes several goals for the cost conscience operator.  The PSB 5+3 reduces subscriber complaints. Many subscribers have no form of surge suppression on their TV’s and computers. When a surge enters through the power line and harms the subscriber’s TV, whom do they call to complain to, the cable company. Installation of the PSB 5+3 will eliminate most of these types of complaints.

The PSB 5+3 provides a new revenue source. Each unit is resold to the subscriber for protection of their computer, television and other electronics.

Cable Innovations is offering an installer incentive plan with each unit purchased. Cable Innovations will pay the installer $5.00 for each PSB 5+3 they install. We are providing the incentive for your installer to sell the surge suppressor. All the installer has to do is fill out a card that is in each box and return it to us. We then send them a check.  Mike Aquino, Cable Innovations President, said, “ The PSB 5+3 solves a problem for the operator at the same time it generates revenue.  The PSB 5+3 gives the operator a chance to have some control over the weakest link in system reliability, the subscribers home.”  Fred Runkle, Vice President of Engineering, stated, “At the same time the PSB 5+3 is protecting the subscribers equipment it also provides protection for the set top. Ask your installers how many times they plug your set top directly into a wall socket or unprotected power strip.”

CABLE INNOVATIONS INTRODUCES DIGITAL INTERFACE UNIT

Lawrenceville, GA - Cable Innovations Inc. announced today the introduction of the DIU-15D line of Digital Interface units for the drop.

The DIU-15D combines Cable Innovations patented surge protection with a digital ready two-way splitter or DC and a high pass filter or window filter.  This allows for a greater ease of installation for running cable modem service to the home.  This also eliminates the use of a ground block and improves the leakage performance at the site.  The cable signal enters into the unit by the input port and passes through the surge protection circuit.  The signal is split into two paths using a digital ready splitter or DC having superior isolation in the return path frequencies.  One path goes directly to the data port, while the other goes through a high pass filter or notch filter to protect the TV from the modem signal and then continues on to the TV port.

The DIU-15D gives cable systems the opportunity to improve reliability while cutting costs. Reliability is improved by reducing the number of components. The combining of a ground block or surge suppressor, splitter and filter into one unit reduces the number of parts that can fail. Combining this with Cable Innovations patented surge suppression will provide the reliability needed when providing internet services.

Cable Innovations currently offers twelve different versions of the DIU and will custom design units to the customer’s specifications. each made with precision SMD components to insure that each unit will perform regardless of temperature changes and handling.

Cable Innovations, Inc. is an international manufacturer and marketer of surge suppression devices and passives.
